Have you had your dial gauge tested this year? How accurate your gauge is can make a difference between over or under processed canning jars. While over-processed food will not be harmful, you will not get all the nutrients and the taste or texture may be off. With under-processing though, lids may not seal and any low-acid food needs to be properly processed to prevent bacterial growth which can be deadly.

Planktown Hardware is now certified to be able to accurately test your dial gauges so that you can have the peace of mind that your canning pressure is correct.

You can bring your lid into the store during testing hours to have us check it out for you. Testing is $5 or free with any $20 store purchase.
